The Lowdown: Repository for everything historically lesbian.

This is the place for lesbian history preserved in the most minute detail. The Archives are the only place you'll find 19th Century medical texts on "sexual inverts" next to copies of "On Our Backs." There are books, photos, diaries, manuscripts, magazines - you name it. If it's got a lesbian vaguely associated with it, they have it.

The Lowdown: Jumbled collection of the GLBiTrans community's history.

The repository for the New York and the national queer community is right here in our humble burgh in our humble Community Services Center. It houses many artifacts, photos and collections of art, many from the estates of gay men who have since died of AIDS. It's a morbid way to build an historic collection, but the beauty of their taste and possessions now benefits the community at large.
