Dasha Snyder, a newsworthy playwright, screenwriter and web author in L.A., is the Digital Goddess.
I've been happily very busy and essentially haven't changed anything on this website in years. This NEWS page is really the only updated thing in a very long while. There's just too much happening nowadays, and that's a good thing. The latest: "TWO HANDS," a beautiful little film that I line-produced for the fantastic director Nathaniel Kahn about the incredible classical pianist Leon Fleisher was just nominated for Best Doccumentary at the 29th Annual News & Documentary Emmy Awards! Not to mention the nomination for Best Documentary Short at the 79th Annual Academy Awards! And it opened the Maryland Film Festival. Official film website here. My short script SPEED GRIEVING, directed by Jessica Daniels, starring Alysia Reiner and produced by Katie Rosin, wrapped principal photography in Winter 2007/8 and is now in Post. I was named one of Power Up!'s writing grantees for a series of short films called THE LAND, to be produced in Spring 2008.
I finally started a personal blog via Friendster - In 2006 I was named one of Go NYC Magazine's "100 Women We Love." I toured the LGBT Film Festival circuit for a long time with "THE D WORD." You can read about the journey on my tour blog. We played in over 40 film festivals in more than 15 countries in 2005/6. TRANSIT KARMA was a quarter-finalist in the 9th Annual American Screenwriters Association International Screenplay Competition and a semi-finalist in the 2005 Nolita Film Festival! I'm also producing the dramedy TO DO: with Jennifer J. Katz and Michele Wolff. The feature version of TO DO: was selected for the 2006 OutFest Screenwriters Lab! A short version of the script was also a finalist at AFI's Directing Workshop for Women 2006. Thanks for stopping by, -D-
